Rescue Atlanta Church is like any other church in that we have a congregation that has Sunday and
Midweek Worship Services.

From there the similarities begin to fade as the vision of Rescue Atlanta Church is different than that
of most traditional churches.

Being that we are located in the heart of Atlanta, in one of it's many troubled inner city neighborhoods,
Rescue Atlanta church family is made up of over 70% homeless, 25% are from our troubled inner city
neighborhoods, and less than 5% are those who serve with us in the ministry.

Every Sunday morning, we provide a hot nutricious breakfast before church to those who are hungry.
We also provide showers, laundry facilties, clothes closet, and a medical clinic for those in need!

Over 95% of those that attend on Sunday morning are dependent on us from Transportation.
Multiple bus and van routes run throughout the city picking up "Over Capacity" bus loads of hurting people!
We are always amazed each week as many people choose to walk 2 or 3 miles to attend.

Wednesday's we serve a hot nutricious lunch, have a Bible Study and give out clothing and food boxes
to the needy families that attend.

Pastor Mel & Teresa Rolls believe that you should give the very best! Afterall, that's the heart of the Father!
Therefore we are careful to prepare meals that are delicious and nutritious!

Many of our visiting outreach teams after a season of Prayer, head for the streets. These teams bring food,
drink, blankets, and ministry to those who are homeless.

These men, women, and even children live in what are known as "CAT HOLES". A "Cat Hole" can be a
vacant building, a place under a bridge, a place in an alley, a place in the doorway of some downtown
business or over a sidewalk vent where warm air flows. Basically anywhere where they can find shelter
from the elements, and feel safe with those around them.

Every time we hit the streets, it is a common thing for the Holy Spirit to draw someone to us in need of
salvation, healing and deliverance. These are powerful times of ministry!

Often our Outreach Teams carry the cross through downtown Atlanta. The cross is a symbol of our faith.
When people see the cross they always want to know what we are doing. This gives us the open door to
share what Jesus did for them when He gave His life on the cross. You can't just walk by the Cross!
THE CROSS DEMANDS AN EXPLANATION!

Rescue Atlanta Church looks for opportunities to share the gospel with people and to minister to their
needs no matter what they may be. We also conduct huge rallies and "Power Jam" Kids Ministry in the
inner city projects. People of all ages, literally hundreds gather and experience Ministry in drama, mime,
clowns, special music and of course the preaching of the Word of God. People always respond to the altar
call. Bibles and helps are given to those who respond. Many of them receive a personal visit in their homes
the very next day.

After these ministry times outdoors we give balloons, stickers, and serve hot dogs, chips, and drinks to
those in attendance.

Each week we also provide emergency clothing, food, & transportation assistance, for the homeless and
the needy families in the inner city neighborhoods. We obtain these resources through donations from
individuals and "drives" throughout the year as the need arises.

Although lives are being changed, we see where so much more could be done if we had additional
resources and finances.

Our goal is to have a 3 month Live-in Christian discipleship program. This would be for those that are
struggling with addictions in their lives. They need a safe place and environment to BEGIN their new walk
with the Lord. This would be their STARTING POINT! After 3 months we would secure a place for them in
a long term Christian Program similar to a Teen Challenge or Victory Outreach.

Many of the Men and Women that we work with on the streets of Atlanta are not "READY" for a the
intense discipleship of the long term programs. They do not respond to discipline unless they know that
they are loved! Love, trust and respect has to be earned .. and many times being "thrown into a program"
where they do not know those administering discpline spells disaster! Come on! Be honest! We all know
people that have gone through this!

Although the percentage rate of success of those that go through these programs and graduate are
extremely high that they never will return to their addictions, the number of people who start the program
and quit and return to their addictions is STAGGERING!

The number of "orphaned", or "kicked out of the house" men and women would blow your mind!
Don't believe it? Then I challenge you to go on the streets and share Jesus with a Homeless person.
You better be ready though … they may know more about Jesus than you do!

This is where a 3 month "induction" Christian Program can help the percentages of those that start and
quit go down because the one's that won them to the Lord are with them in the beginning. You can compare
this to the BONDING that goes on between a newborn and the parents in the first few months of life!

They have to be taught at home, before you send them off to school!

Pray with us that this will become a REALITY soon! We need the "Right People" in place before we can begin!

Another DESIRE would be to be able to provide EMERGENCY SHELTER during the Cold Winter Months
when it dips below 40 degrees on the steets! We could house up to 80 men temporarily at our facility,
but cannot do this on a permanent basis. Again, we need to pray for the "Right People" for this area of ministry!

You MUST be able to LOVE LIKE JESUS because you'll get a lot of practice!

We hope that you will take this, another small piece of the vision, and pray for us. We also hope that should
you have any resources that could help this dream become a reality that you will give generously to the Lord.

Thanks for helping us continue "Reaching the people God desperately wants"!
